Minjee in the running for Women in Sport award – Golf Australia Magazine – The Women’s Game

But her crowning achievement of 2022 has already put on the board has earned her a nomination for Women’s Health magazine’s Women In Sports Awards to be held in Sydney on Sunday 16 October, and broadcast live on Fox Sports.

The awards put Australian athletes from all disciplines against each other in various categories, with the eventual winners decided by public vote.

“The caliber of this year’s Women’s Health Women In Sport Awards finalists is incredible. With athletes representing sports across wheelchair rugby to swimming, AFLW and tennis – and from local to international levels of competition – there has never been a more competitive year for the Awards,” Editor-in-Chief of Women’s Health Lizza Gebilagin said.

Lee’s nomination has come in the ‘Standout Moment of the Year’ category, while there will also be awards handed out for Local Sporting Champion, Leadership Legend, One to Watch, Champion Team of the Year, Young Achiever and the Athlete of the Year.

Lee is up against the below nominees in her category that is described by the publication as “A major and highly memorable moment that sent the country into a frenzy or created significant national conversation. This award is given to a moment in play or as the result of a single game or season.”

A total of 10 awards will be presented on the night, including the announcement of winners for Hall of Fame, Person of Sporting Influence and the Federal Government’s Outstanding Woman in Sport.
