Here’s the latest on some of the Mets’ top prospects…

SS/2B Ronny Mauricio, Triple-A Syracuse

Mauricio was probably one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball during the month of May.

The sweet-swinging shortstop recorded a slash-line of .347/.407/.541 with 14 doubles, a triple, a homer, and 17 RBI. Mauricio recorded multiple hits in 14 of the 25 games he appeared in and stole five bases. He also drew six walks and struck out just 11 times, cutting down his K-rate to 9.3 percent.

Mauricio launched his eighth home run of the season in Syracuse’s 5-3 win on Sunday afternoon. He did, however, leave in the seventh inning due to a sprained left ankle.

C Kevin Parada, High-A Brooklyn

After a bit of a slow start to the season, Parada has been red hot for the Cyclones of late.

Prior to Sunday’s game, he was riding an eight-game hitting streak. He picked up his 14th double of the season on Saturday afternoon en route to another multi-hit game.

Overall, Parada, who is now the Mets’ No. 1 prospect according to MLB Pipeline (Francisco Alvarez and Brett Baty have graduated off the list), is slashing .250/.342/.399 with three home runs and 15 RBI.

OF Alex Ramirez, High-A Brooklyn

Ramirez, now the Mets’ No. 2 prospect, has had a rough start to the season with Brooklyn.

On Sunday, though, the talented outfielder enjoyed a big day at the plate. Ramirez launched his fourth home run of the season and finished a triple shy of the cycle. Overall, he went 3-for-4 with the homer, a double, three RBI, three runs scored, and a walk.

He’s worked his way up to a .731 OPS on the year through 44 games.

SS Jett Williams, Low-A St. Lucie

The Mets’ No. 3 prospect, Williams has had some trouble finding hits, but he’s starting to settle into a nice little groove.

Williams has recorded a hit in six of his last ten games. He homered on Friday night for his second of the season. Two days later, he put his full talent on display, drawing three walks, stealing three bases, and scoring three runs.

Williams is hitting just .213 but he’s been an on-base machine for St. Lucie. Thanks to 33 walks in 39 games he’s posted a .405 on-base percentage to go along with 17 stolen bases.

RHP Mike Vasil, Double-A Binghamton

Vasil made his return to the mound on Sunday afternoon for Binghamton. The 24-year-old has been out since leaving his start back on May 24 early due to a minor back issue.

Vasil allowed just one run on one hit while striking out six over five innings of work. He now has a 3.13 ERA with a stellar 54/6 K/BB ratio through 46 innings pitched this season.

It was good to see Vasil get back out there and pitch well, as he is the most major league-ready pitching prospect the Mets have in their system.
