Men’s Soccer Announces Six Newcomers

NIAGARA UNIV., NY – Niagara men’s soccer head coach Bill Boyle has announced six newcomers to the team for the fall of 2022. Anthony Amato, Jamie Barry, Savior Brown, Alberto Sánchez Cervera, Brady McNulty and Robert Woods have all joined the squad.

“The group of six for fall 2022 brings in a great complement of positional needs, as well as personalities our team is excited for,” said Boyle. “A couple local guys and guys from Spain, Liberia, Ireland and California continue to add to our already richly diverse team. We can’t wait to have them, and their families join our Niagara men’s soccer family!”

Anthony Amato | Back | 5-foot-8 | Grand Island, NY | Grand Island High School
Amato joins the Purple Eagles from Grand Island High School, where he was named the Greater Niagara Newspaper’s Boys’ Soccer Player of the Year in 2021. Amato earned All-Western New York First Team and All-Niagara Frontier League First Team honors in 2021 In 2017, she competed in the Milk Cup in Ireland with the GPS National Team. Amato played at the club level for the Western New York Flash.

Jamie Barry | Goalkeeper 6-foot-3 | Dublin, Ireland St. Paul’s College
Barry, a native of Dublin, Ireland, most recently played for Dundalk U19. He compiled a record of 7-4-3 in his most recent season. Barry played for Dundalk U15 until November 2018.

Savior Brown | Forward | 5-foot-9 | Paynesville, Liberia University of Liberia
Brown came to Monteagle Ridge from the University of Liberia. Brown played for Gardnersville FC and scored 15 goals last season. He was promoted to the LISCF FC First Team in July 2022.

Alberto Sánchez Cervera | Back | 6-foot-1 | Valencia, Spain Levante UD
Sanchez Cervera joins the Purple Eagles from Valencia, Spain, where he attended Cumbres School Valencia. He played soccer for Levante UD, which is one of the premier Spanish soccer academies, for seven years. He served as a team captain for four years and his team won the Comunidad Valenciana Championship.

Brady McNulty | Back | 6-foot-1 | San Gabriel, CA | Temple City High School
McNulty transferred to NU from Cal State Northridge, where he played on the club men’s soccer team. While in high school, he was a two-time Rio Hondo League Defender of the Year and a two-time Temple City School MVP. McNulty played at the club level for FC Golden State ECNL and he was named to the All-ECNL Southwest Conference First Team in 2021.

Robert Woods| Forward | 5-foot-8 | Lewiston, NY | Lewiston-Porter
Woods is a local product, coming to NU from Lewiston-Porter High School. Woods was an All-Western New York selection twice. He finished his high school career second in school history in goals with 71, including 19 game-winners. Woods led the Niagara Frontier League in goals and points in both 2020 and 2021.
