Greenville News 2023 Baseball Player of the Year
Taylor Rabe
Greenville | Sr.
It’s almost always extremely difficult to pick the best high school baseball player in Greenville County considering all the talent.
This time, it’s rather easy.
It’s Greenville High School senior Taylor Rabe.
Rabe, headed for Ole Miss, is the Greenville News All-Greenville baseball player of the year. He also was named all-classifications player of the year in South Carolina.
As a pitcher, he was 8-0 with a 1.19 ERA to help Greenville go deep into the Class AAAA playoffs. In 54 innings, he struck out 101 batters, walked 14 and allowed only 28 hits.
At the plate, he hit .364 in 84 at-bats with six homers and 28 RBIs.
“Filthy on the mound,” one opposing coach said. “His stuff is gross, and he has pinpoint control. And he drops bombs at the plate. A true two-way player.”
