‘Made for the Moment’ murals depict Canada’s eternal love of soccer

In light of the recent FIFA World Cup, Frito Lay Canada spearheaded two mural installations to highlight the country’s ongoing relationship with the game of soccer.

As part of their “Made for the Moment” campaign, the company commissioned mural artists Adrian Hayles and Carson Ting, to create themed murals in Toronto and Vancouver. The murals are designed to represent the artists’ respective cities, as well as share what soccer means to them—having grown up in different and diverse places in Canada.

Ting is an award-winning artist and former art director from Vancouver, who combines his decades of experience in conceptual commercial creativity with his fun, illustrative visual art styles, to provide powerful and unique work. Depicting a Canadian goose going for a goal kick, his mural uses a full spectrum of colors to showcase the country’s rich cultural diversity. Ting’s mural can be viewed at 655 Smite Street in Vancouver.

Hayles is an illustrator from Toronto, known for his provocative and inspiring style, defiance of categorization, and blurred lines between graffiti and ultra-realism. As the father of a budding soccer player, he wanted to create an inspirational graffiti mural which would also fit in with other murals in the area. Hayles’ mural can be viewed at 22 Queen St. W in Toronto.
