The 2022 Try-An-Instrument Summer Tour runs for two weeks from August 22
London’s Lycaeum MusicOnWheels Bus is once again embarking on a two-week tour of the city, with the aim of giving children the opportunity to experience a new musical instrument. The touring bus, which is Lycaeum’s flagship program, will make fourteen stops in different areas of London.
The program’s primary aim is to democratize music education by providing teaching and learning opportunities for children who may not usually receive them. Lycaeum was able to purchase the bus in 2019 after a successful round of crowdfunding and is run by a dedicated team of five staff.
The bus offers a range of different events, including an introduction to instruments, group instrumental sessions, group music theory classes, and concerts for parents and friends.
“Attention please – our MusicOnWheels bus is back on the road for our August London Summer Tour!” Lycaeum wrote on social media.
“Our flagship music outreach program is out to offer children the chance to try more than a dozen instruments with our amazing tutors, in a very unique and friendly environment for kids. Coming to over 14 London locations near you – see which one is closest and book your place for only £5!”
