Local soccer players compete in California

FORT ST. JOHN, BC — The Surf College Cup welcomed five under-17 Northern Striker players to San Diego, California, last weekend.

Andrew Jackson, Madix Palfy, Kaden Baumeister, Devon Huillery, and Daejul Pankratz, were invited to join players from Alberta and BC Surf Soccer to play against USA teams.

Danielle Pankratz, Daejul’s mom, said most of the boys have grown up together in Fort St. John.

Tre Lopushinsky is the News Director at Energeticcity.ca, and a NAIT broadcasting graduate. His love for local journalism started in Lloydminster, where he realized the importance of covering issues/topics for smaller municipalities. He is also the co-host of Before The Peace, highlighting Indigenous voices in the North Peace. In his off time, Tre is yelling at his TV while watching pro wrestling, MMA, and basketball.
