Liverpool FC — LFC’s Kate Pratt Theobald recognized as a game-changing woman in sports business

The USA-based Game Changers program works to elevate women in sport by celebrating the many ways in which they bring new approaches and ideas to sports business, placing a spotlight on the key roles played in their respective fields as athletes, executives or consumers.

All honorees will join other inspirational and motivational women at a dedicated conference at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, USA. In previous years, the high-energy ceremony has included the likes of PepsiCo chairman and CEO Indra Nooyi, and Ogilvy & Mather chairman emeritus Shelly Lazarus as speakers.

Pratt, who has been with LFC and Fenway Sports Management since 2019, leads a team of four and has played an integral role in securing several lucrative partnerships with global blue-chip companies, including Expedia, Monster Energy, SC Johnson, Sonos, and Wasabi .

LFC’s following in the USA has grown from 14.1 million in 2017 to 21.1 million currently, making it the No.1-followed Premier League club in America. Pratt’s work across the business has enabled LFC to be recognized as the top-supported Premier League team and most-watched team in the USA, harboring more followers in the country alone than any individual team across the NBA and NFL combined.

On receiving the news, she said: “I am delighted to join the 2022 SBJ Game Changers class and have the work that I love acknowledged. I’m fortunate to work for two fantastic organizations that strongly support women.

“I’d like to extend my congratulations to all SBJ Game Changers this year!”

Pratt will feature in the September 26 issue of Sports Business Journal, which can be found at Sports Business Journal.
