LG has a new 4K projector that is targeting commercial use as well as golf enthusiasts. The LG ProBeam BU53PST is a 4K UHD short-throw solution for those looking to get a huge image with plenty of brightness. Offering up to 5,000 lumens of brightness, the company says it will easily achieve screen sizes of up to 300-inches while not sacrificing any details.
With a 12-point edge adjustment, it should be pretty easy to get a flawless aim at any screen and to make sure nothing looks off. Especially, when using it in a commercial atmosphere. This would be a good option for clubs, bars, offices, and more. Including golf simulators as these require a huge image with plenty of brightness.
It offers a 3,000,000:1 contrast ratio that should lead to some decent blacks, HDR10 for a vivid color profile, and even 2x 5W speakers (internal) to get a little sound by itself. It also has HDMI ARC and HDMI Simplink to make it easy to connect to a soundbar or other external solution for those who need a bit more than just a little sound.
Thanks to it being a laser projector, LG says it should be able to obtain a 20,000-hour life like most other laser models. Allowing users to get plenty of use out of it before having to worry about any future upgrades. A significant leap compared to LCD models that typically last 1,000-3,000 hours before needing a new (expensive) bulb replacement.
The projector is already available, although it seems to already be a little popular as it is showing as back-ordered. Which likely has a lot to do with the global supply chain issues as well, I’m sure. However, it is currently available via B&H and will likely start to pop up via other retailers when stock stabilizes a little more.
