Chinese technology brand Lenovo has developed what it claims is the “world’s first” full-sized OLED double-screen laptop, which debuted at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas last week.
The Yoga Book 9i features two 13.3-inch touchscreens that can be used together as a large tablet or paired with an attachable Bluetooth keyboard to function as a dual-screen laptop.
Lenovo designed the Yoga Book 9i to facilitate multitasking and better productivity for users who want to view multiple files or media at once.
The touchscreens are set on a 360-degree hinge and connected via the soundbar, which features built-in Bowers & Wilkins speakers that support Dolby Atmos spatial audio.
Users can attach the keyboard to the bottom of the screens, which can be placed side-by-side like the pages of a book or stacked vertically with the help of a stand.
The two OLED panels have 2.8K resolution displays that can be used independently to show two different applications or simultaneously for one application across a larger laptop display.
“The Yoga Book 9i’s dual-screen technology empowers consumers to enjoy a unique range of versatile experiences,” said Lenovo.
“It could be as simple as having the ability to surf the web and view the image across two full screens with an easy five-finger motion.”
“When it’s time to sit back and relax, users can watch a movie on one screen while researching interesting background facts about the movie on the second screen,” the brand continued.
The teal-coloured portable device runs on Windows 11 software and also comes with a stylus.
“Built for hybrid productivity and multitasking in on-the-go spaces, the Intel Evo Yoga Book 9i is more than a thin and light convertible device,” said Lenovo. “It is redefining the category with dual-screen versatility, multi-modal productivity potential and top-of-the-line entertainment capabilities.”
The Yoga Book 9i is set to be available from June 2023.
Other gadgets unveiled at CES this year – as seen in our roundup of trends from the trade show – include a customizable Playstation controller for gamers with limited motor control and a screenless smartwatch that tracks the wearer’s health.
