LeBron James is one of the most dominant players to have ever played in the NBA, and his longevity is absolutely astounding. Even though he was in his 19th NBA season last year, James was still astounding on an individual level, averaging 30.3 PPG, 8.2 RPG, and 6.2 APG.
A recent fact shared by Reddit user SharksFanAbroad showed just how long LeBron James has been dominant. The fan revealed that LeBron James is currently 37 years and 234 days old, the same exact age as Kobe Bryant was during his last game for the Los Angeles Lakers. The fan also noted that it’s “crazy to think” about just how much LeBron James “might still have left in the tank”.
LeBron James’ current level of play is clearly superstar-level, and it is quite likely that he’ll still be playing at a high level over the course of the next few years for the Los Angeles Lakers. He can clearly still be the No. 1 option on a championship-level team, and we’ll see if the Los Angeles Lakers are able to make the right move to put a good roster around him prior to the start of the season.
The Los Angeles Lakers disappointed last year, despite LeBron James’ stellar play. They finished with a record of 33-49, and there is no doubt that this was a subpar finish for a team that was expected to be contending for the championship at the beginning of the season. Point guard Russell Westbrook was clearly not a good fit for the team, and the Lakers have linked with a number of trades involving him that would improve the roster. The most notable trade involves the Los Angeles Lakers moving Russell Westbrook and Kyrie Irving to the Brooklyn Nets in exchange for point guard Kyrie Irving.
Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers compete next year and avoid another disappointing finish. With LeBron James healthy, they will always have a chance if they manage to get to the playoffs, but the key, of course, will be enduring the regular season and making it to the postseason.
