Last chance to vote for Jimmy: Sports Dad of the Year

James Tamou is among ten elite Australian athletes vying for the Sports Dad of the Year award with the winner to be announced on Father’s Day.

Be sure to lodge your vote and help get Jimmy over the line!

Now in its fourteenth year, the award showcases the contribution Australia’s sporting elite make to their families, both on and off the field.

Last year’s winner was BMX gold medalist at the Tokyo Olympics Games Logan Martin, who donated his winnings to Lung Foundation Australia.

As a club we’ve had two previous winners of the award in Benji Marshall (2019) and John Skandalis (2009).

This year’s nominated Sports Dads will be profiled on sportsdads.com.au which will include questions and answers from the players about their families.

All voters have the opportunity to win special prizes for their own father this Father’s Day, with the winning Sports Dad of the Year receiving $5,000 to donate to their charity of choice. If Jimmy wins, he will donate to Mater Children’s Hospital.

Wife Brittany says James is an incredible father and husband, “He’s a super hands-on dad and wants to be involved in everything we are doing.

“He makes a point of preparing the kids’ school lunches the night before and always has the boys’ school clothes out the night before which makes our morning rush so much easier.”

He is the most caring human, and always has time for anyone and everyone.”
