Lana Del Rey reveals her laptop and cameras were stolen as songs and personal photos are leaked

Lana Del Rey has urged fans not to listen to leaked music or look at personal photos as she revealed that her laptop, cameras, and hard drives were recently stolen which has forced her to delete a book that she was working on.

The 37-year-old New York native took to her Instagram on Wednesday to make her revelation as she claims that her information is still being accessed by strangers to this very day.

In a self-taken video she said: ‘I wanted to talk to you guys about something for a minute.

A few months ago, I parked my car on Melrose Place and I stepped away for a minute.

‘And the one time I left my backpack inside my car, someone broke all of the windows and took it. And inside was my computer and my three camcorders and my hard drives.

Perhaps worst of all, she said that she ended up having to delete the book for major publishing company Simon & Schuster that she was working on.

She explained: ‘I had to remotely wipe my computer that had my 200-page book for Simon & Schuster, which I didn’t have backed up on a cloud, because we don’t have any cloud systems that we access.

‘Despite that, people are still able this week to remotely be able to access our phone and leak our songs and personal photos.’

She is currently working on her ninth studio album after last year’s release titled Blue Banisters and urged her fans not to listen to the leaks and will ultimately be rewarded when her next release comes out.

Lana said: ‘I just want to mention that despite all of this happening, I am confident in the record to come, and despite so many safety factors in so many different levels, I really want to persist and make the best record I can. ‘

This is not the first time she has been stolen from in a major way as back in December 2019 she revealed that personal items were stolen from her family.

She shed light on the previous crisis as she said: ‘Even if I have to start over with my book, which I do, obviously I won’t ever leave anything in the car, even if it’s just for a moment.

We’ve had the same issues at the house. It is a constant thing, and although I’m so grateful to be able to share all of the good stuff, I just want to share that it has been a challenge.

I think it’s important to say it is a bit of a roadblock in terms of the creative process and keeping things safe and valuable, and keeping me safe as well with all of the action that’s been going on around me, my home, everywhere I go.’

Lana obviously has trust issues from the incidents as she said she ultimately believes her public pleas won’t do anything to prevent future leaks.

She said: ‘I don’t even think a plea for respect of some privacy would even do anything, but I do want to be honest about the fact that I do have concerns about what’s going to be out there in the two years worth of videos that we have from the family, and everything we were planning to turn into a small snippet of our lives over the past couple of years. I’m not exactly sure what’s going to happen with it.

‘I just want to bring it to light that it’s hard. There’s really nothing to be done, because I can’t really make my devices any safer, however people access them is unbeknownst to me and unavoidable unless I don’t have them and no one has them, in terms of the songs.’

Lana then concluded the lengthy message by talking about the future of her music and book as she said: ‘I’m hoping that nothing else becomes available or stolen, and this is just an off-the-cuff thought that I’ve had for a long time, that I don’t really like to share things that are not going to plan, but it’s why I’ve been private in the first place, and it doesn’t really seem to have any bearing on whether things actually stay privately

‘Even if what I’m left with is just my innermost thoughts, I accept that, but just want to say that it is a challenge. Please don’t listen to the music if you hear it. It’s not coming out yet. And in terms of the book, I loved the book that I lost with all of my heart and put a lot of passion into it. And in terms of the camcorders, we shall see what happens with that.

So that is an update that I would obviously normally not give, but I’m worried about it, so now that it’s like the third time this has happened, I just wanted to address it, so that’s that and onward and upward and we I’ll see. Thanks.’

Regardless there is some good news regarding new music in the near future as it was announced that she will be featured on Taylor Swift’s upcoming tenth album with a song called Snow On The Beach.
