The winner of the latest Enquirer Athlete of the Week fan poll is Ella Seiler of the Lakeview girls soccer team.
Fans got behind Seiler to help her edge fellow Athlete of the Week finalists Jack Bidwell, Sade Blackwell, Ryan Casterline and Kamden Etheridge. Seiler received 55% of the vote by the 5 pm Wednesday deadline. Thanks to her fans, she will receive an Enquirer Athlete of the Week T-shirt.
Lakeview won its third straight All-City Girls Soccer Tournament championship, defeating Harper Creek, 3-0, in the finals. Spartan goalie and team co-captain Ella Seiler had a shutout in the final game and helped Lakeview beat Calhoun Christian/St. Philip, 5-2, in the semifinals.
“Ella is an outstanding goalkeeper who puts her heart and soul into each and every game. Her leadership as a captain is invaluable, and the combination of those factors is a big contributor to the success of our team this year,” Lakeview soccer coach Heather Allbee said.
