The Los Angeles Lakers’ efforts to trade Russell Westbrook continue with the calendar heading towards September.
Their options have been limited with Kyrie Irving apparently off the table, which may actually be a good thing in the sense that they can focus on their only viable option.
That option may be some form of a deal involving multiple teams, and those teams could include the Indiana Pacers, Utah Jazz and the New York Knicks.
The Knicks don’t have many players Los Angeles seems interested in, as Julius Randle doesn’t seem to be a player it would want to take back.
But there is another New York forward the Lakers are intrigued by.
Via New York Post:
“According to a source, the Lakers are open to discussions and are still interested in forward Cam Reddish.”
Reddish is an interesting prospect. At 6-foot-8 and nearly 220 pounds, he can play both forward spots, and he has been thought to have potential as a 3-and-D player, the type of role player the Lakers need more of, especially in the frontcourt. .
But Reddish hasn’t put it together yet in three NBA seasons. His 3-point shooting has fluctuated, as he shot 37.9 percent from beyond the arc in 34 games with the Atlanta Hawks last year but fell to 25.8 percent after being sent to the Knicks.
