Knights Soccer Teams Compete At Tournaments

The U14 Team that competed at Decatur.

The Knights Soccer team arranged a few teams to participate in the Nationwide 3V3 Live Soccer tournament on July 30.

The Knights traveled to Decatur to participate in their 3v3 Live Tournament, with teams in the 2007/2008 age group, 2009/2010 age group, and 2011/2012 girls age group.

“The girls came out and played very well and got some great experience,” said Eric Morales. “The 2007/2008 boys team went 4-0 in the tournament winning their bracket and giving them an opportunity to advance to the Regional level. The 2009/2010 boys also played a fantastic tournament finishing 5-1 on the night, winning their bracket and giving them an opportunity to advance to the Regional level as well. Overall it was a great day for soccer, temperatures were nice and the tournament was excellent.”

On August 6, the Knights traveled to Fenton, Mo. to participate in the 3v3 Live Tournament Regional championships in a beautiful soccer stadium.

As the 2007/2008 boys team took to the stage, stepping into a very solid and competitive bracket, they went 4-5, 7-8, 9-4, 7-8 finishing 1-3 on some great tight games on an extremely hot afternoon with temps up to 100 or more,” said Morales. “Then the 2009/2010 boys took the stage going 11-1, 1-4, 4-4, 8-7 finishing 2-1-1 on some impressive soccer .

“These results for the 2009/2010 boys team qualifies them to advance to the National Level which is held in Palm Beach Gardens, FL in November.
Coach Jeff Delong and I could not be more proud of all the kids that participated,” continued Morales. “A big shout out to the 2009/2010 boys team for qualifying for the National Level. The 2009/2010 boys team included Gage Kinder, Connor Delong, Khye Stanfield, Jake Niebrugge, Gavin Porter and Clayton Kupinski.

“The Knights also took the stage with a 2011/2012 boys team, they did very well also gaining some wonderful experience. Thanks to all who traveled and managed the heat, great cheering section.”
