Report: Kings to open 2022-23 season at home vs. Blazers originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
After starting the last three seasons on the road, the Kings will reportedly open the 2022-23 campaign at home.
FOX 40’s Sean Cunningham confirmed Monday night, citing sources, that the Kings will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Wednesday, Oct. 19 at Golden 1 Center.
KHTK 1140’s Carmichael Dave first reported news of the Kings-Blazers game to open the season.
The Kings opened last season at the Moda Center in Portland, so the Damian Lillard and the Blazers are returning the favor this year by traveling to Sacramento.
Kings fans will get their first glimpse of No. 4 overall draft pick Keegan Murray, who took the Las Vegas Summer League by storm and won MVP of the competition.
Coming off another disappointing season, the Kings are trying to end their NBA-record 16-season playoff drought, and with the moves they’ve made over the last six months, they hope this is the season.
