Here’s the latest on some of the Mets’ top prospects…

SS/2B/OF Ronny Mauricio, Triple-A Syracuse

Mauricio went 4-for-6 last Saturday in Syracuse’s 10-6 loss to the Buffalo Bisons. While he did have a throwing error in left field, Mauricio hit his 11th home run of the season.

However, after getting a single and driving in a pair in five plate appearances last Sunday, Mauricio has gone hitless in his last 15 plate appearances with four strikeouts. He has walked twice and scored.

After hitting .367 in May, Mauricio is batting just .203 with a .658 OPS and our home runs over 69 at-bats over 16 games in June. On the year, he’s slashing .310/.356/.521 with 11 homers, 23 doubles and 41 RBI over 68 games. Mauricio has walked 16 times and struck out 51 times.

RHP Mike Vasil, Triple-A Syracuse

After being promoted to Triple-A on June 12, Vasil had a rough go in his Syracuse debut. He was tagged for six runs on seven hits in three innings of work. He walked two and struck out four, allowing two doubles and a round-tripper.

In his second go of things on Thursday, the tall left-hander got through 3.2 innings allowing one run on two hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

The 23-year-old is ranked by MLB Pipeline as the No. 8 overall prospect in the team’s farm system and is considered by many as the organization’s most major league-ready pitching prospect.

1B/3B Mark Vientos, Triple-A Syracuse

In his first three games back with Syracuse following a 16-game stint at the big league level, Vientos has hits in each game including a home run on Thursday against the Durham Bulls. Vientos went 5-for-13 with two doubles and a walk since his demotion.

In 41 games at Triple-A this season, he has slashed .338/.420/.695 for a 1.115 OPS with 13 doubles, 14 home runs and 39 RBI.

C Kevin Parada, High-A Brooklyn

It was a big week for the Mets’ No. 1 prospect according to MLB Pipeline.

On Friday, Parada went 3-for-4 with two home runs and a walk to cap off a 6-1 Brooklyn win over the Hudson Valley Renegades.

In five games for the Cyclones this week, Parada had nine hits in 20 at-bats with a triple and three home runs with seven RBI. He walked twice and went down on strikes four times.

In 59 games this campaign the catcher – who spoke to The Mets Pod crew this week – is slashing .268/.351/.439 for a .790 OPS. Parada has 14 doubles, two triples, seven home runs and 26 RBI on the year. (And in Buck Showalter’s ‘favorite’ stat, he’s been hit by the pitch seven times.)

OF Alex Ramirez, High-A Brooklyn

Ramirez, now the Mets’ No. 2 prospect, had a decent bounce-back week going 6-for-16 with an RBI, six walks and six strikeouts in the last six games. He also stole three bases while being caught once.

In 60 games for Brooklyn, the outfielder has put together a .248/.355/.356 slash line for a .711 OPS with nine doubles, five dingers and 31 RBI. Ramirez has struck out 56 times with 34 walks

SS Jett Williams, Low-A St. Lucie

Williams, the Mets’ No. 3 prospect, appears to have put some early season struggles behind him by following up a 6-for-11 stretch that included five walks with a 6-for-16 week with five more walks for St. Lucie.

Overall, Williams has now got his average up to .233 through 54 games. The 19-year-old has six doubles, three triples and three home runs with 24 RBI and a .421 on-base percentage and is slugging .355.

RHP Blade Tidwell, High-A Brooklyn

Tidwell, who tied his career-high with 10 strikeouts on June 11, continued to put things together for the Cyclones.

Last Saturday at Aberdeen, the right-hander pitched seven shutout innings allowing just three hits and two walks while collecting six strikeouts. Tidwell did so on an efficient 93 pitches.

The 22-year-old followed that up by allowing one run on four hits and two walks over six innings Friday night against Hudson Valley. He added nine strikeouts to give him 75 on the year.

Through 12 starts, he has allowed 26 runs (22 earned) on 35 hits with 37 walks in 51.2 innings pitched good for a 3.83 ERA. He has allowed just eight doubles and four home runs through 181 at-bats.
