Megan Osland was victorious over the weekend at a Sun City golf tournament, finishing the third round course with back-to-back three-under 69’s.
The Kelowna native finished the tournament with an eagle and 13 birdies.
She beat fellow Canadian Alena Sharp by three strokes. From Hamilton, Sharp is currently competing in the LPGA, the highest level of professional women’s golf.
The Sun City event is a part of the Cactus Tour, which provides an opportunity for golfers to develop and sharpen their skills in preparation for competing on the Epson and LPGA Tours.
The Epson Tour is a step below the LPGA, with the top 10 golfers in the money list at the end of the year getting automatic membership into the LPGA.
Earlier this year, the 29-year-old Osland was able to qualify for her first ever LPGA championship, after finishing in a tie for first at an LPGA qualifying event. It was her first LPGA Championship and her sixth ever event on the tour.
She has also competed in three Canadian Women’s Open and two US Women’s Open.
