Keith Prokop Takes Reins of Golf Program

RIVERDALE, NY – Director of Intercollegiate Athletics Marianne Reilly has announced that Keith Prokop has been selected as the next head coach for the Manhattan College golf program.

“The Jasper Family is excited to welcome Keith to Riverdale to lead our golf program,” Said Reilly “Keith is a proven winner personally and professionally and teaches the skills necessary to win as he did at Dominican College. We look forward to him doing great things at Manhattan College.”

“I am extremely excited and thankful to be a part of the Manhattan College family! I would like to personally thank you Marianne Reilly, Whitney Swab and Jerry Wood for allowing me this tremendous opportunity and helping me transition into the position of Men’s Head Golf Coach,” Said Prokop, “I look forward to taking my 8 years of coaching, teaching and playing professionally to be able to bring this program to the championship caliber it deserves to be. Being a Jasper and coaching these young men to their full potential on and off the golf course is truly a blessing.”

Prokop comes to Riverdale by way of Dominican University in Orangeburg, NY where he had served as the Head Men’s and Women’s Golf Coach since 2014. While with Dominican, he won the CACC Title in back-to-back years, 2019 and 2020 while earning CACC Coach of the Year honors in 2018 and 2019.

Prokop knows how to build a program over time as he led Dominican to the program’s first-ever appearance at the NCAA DII National Golf Championships during the 2017 season. In that season, his Chargers were the champions of the East/Atlantic Super Regionals. In those three years, he took the Chargers from being ranked 203 in the nation, to that appearance in the national championships.

Prokop graduated Dominican in 2014 with a degree in mathematics prior to taking over the program. While a golfer at Dominican, Prokop earned a spot on the PING All-Region team in his junior and senior seasons (2013 & 2014).
