Kara Reveals Storyline With Guillermo Was Scripted

Kara Bass has come clean about her fake storyline with Guillermo Rojer 90 Day Fiancé season 9. Kara from Charlottesville met Venezuelan man Guillermo when she was in the Dominican Republic for work. When Kara returned to the US, the couple kept in touch and when her job took Kara back to the Dominican Republic, they lived together, got a dog, and Guillermo proposed to her. Now engaged, Guillermo moved to the US on a K-1 visa to get married to Kara. With Kara being 29-year-old and Guillermo, just 23 years old, she declared she was a cougar, while secrets from her past came to haunt their relationship.

Through Kara’s ex-boyfriend, Guillermo learned that she had been a cheater and wondered if he was doing the right thing by making her his wife. Kara’s party girl lifestyle was also very different from Guillermo’s, and when it came to making decisions about their future, Kara called the shots. Guillermo expressed frustration at Kara’s bossy personality and his realization made fans wonder if the couple was made to last. In fact, there had been a major argument between Kara and Guillermo over money right at the start, when he wanted to get a computer so he could pass time while she went off to her jobs.

However, as per Kara herself, this laptop scene with Guillermo was not real at all. Reddit user u/ndiojukwu discovered a conversation between Kara and a 90 Day Fiancé fan on Instagram about the supposed computer segment. The fan had commented that Kara will “no longer need to argue over a laptop cost now,” with a facepalm emoji perhaps due to Guillermo probably having a Green Card now that he’s been married to Kara for over a year. Upon seeing the comment, an offended Kara told the fan, “That was an argument the network wanted.” As per Kara, Guillermo never wanted a laptop. “just fyi” she added in her reply.

During the scene, Guillermo, who wasn’t able to work in America for a while because of visa restrictions, wanted to buy a laptop and 90 Day Fiancé star Kara kept dismissing the idea on account of their finances. Guillermo argued that they had money because he had sold his things before coming to America. But Kara had suggested that Guillermo should use her old computer instead of wasting money buying a new one. Fans weren’t thrilled about Kara not letting Guillermo buy what he wanted, especially since the money was his. Kara had also mocked Guillermo by saying, “you never used a computer in your life” in a very condescending tone.

It was just one of the many reasons why fans thought Kara and Guillermo would not stay together after 90 Day Fiancé season 9 ends. But they turned out to be the first couple to get married on the show, and on the Tell All it was revealed that Kara is pregnant. Kara and Guillermo are going to have a baby in November this year. Although what Guillermo does for a living in the US is not clear, Kara quit her balloon-making business and has a thriving real estate career. There’s no reason for the couple to worry about laptop costs, and perhaps there wasn’t any to begin with. 90 Day Fiancé fans have now filed the scene under the list of scripted ones on season 9, including Biniyam Shibre’s sisters throwing wine in Ariela Weinberg’s face, Ariela calling out Biniyam’s trainer, Miona Bell being scolded by Mahala for her clothes, or Jibri Bell starting a fight with Ariel at the Tell-All.
