Juan Toscano-Anderson wants future children to grow up like Moses Moody

JTA wants future kids to grow up to be like Warriors’ Moody originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea

The Warriors bounced back with a 127-100 Game 2 win over the Los Angeles Lakers on Thursday night at Chase Center after dropping Game 1.

While Golden State needed its star players to perform and counter LeBron James and Anthony Davis, the Warriors also required their role players to produce.

It was Moses Moody answering the call in Game 2.

Moody had 10 points and seven rebounds in 26 minutes off the bench against the Lakers. Former Warriors forward Juan Toscano-Anderson highlighted how the 20-year-old showed maturity by stepping up in a crucial situation.

“I think his experiences, his parents, I mean, I’ve gotten a chance to really know his parents [and] they’re great people,” Toscano-Anderson told Bonta Hill, Chris Mullin and Dorell Wright on NBC Sports Bay Area’s “Warriors Postgame Live” after the win.

“Moses is a true professional. If one day I ever have kids, I would love for my kids to grow up and be like him. You know, the way he comes to work every day, the way he conducts himself.”

Furthermore, Toscano-Anderson noted that he wasn’t shocked that his former teammate performed well despite the Arkansas product’s lack of playing time during the 2022-23 NBA regular season.

“I’m not surprised by his performance,” Toscano-Anderson continued. “After seeing a lot of DNPs [Did Not Play] and a lot of limited minutes, that’s great, especially from a young guy who’s [in his] second year in the league.

“I don’t know exactly how old he is. He’s probably, like, 20 years old, 21 years old. So that’s impressive. And I’m most impressed by the seven rebounds. That’s big time.”

The series is tied up 1-1 as the matchup shifts to Los Angeles with Game 3 on Saturday at Crypto.com Arena. If Golden State needs production outside its starting five, Warriors coach Steve Kerr now knows he can count on Moody.
