Joey Votto is known to mention that he dreams of driving a school bus when his Major League Baseball playing career ends.
And when the longtime Cincinnati Reds first baseman started his rehab assignment for the Triple-A Louisville Bats earlier this month, he posted a photo of himself behind the wheel of a bus on Instagram, with the text, “Heading down to Louisville for a few stops.”
Keeping with that theme, hey retweeted video from @MiLB of his second homer in five games, with the text, “This impersonator has to be stopped. This is NOT Joey Votto. Joey Votto, me, drives a yellow school bus. ‘bus emoji’ beep ‘bus emoji’ beep .”
The home run helped the Bats to a 6-3 win against the St. Paul Saints. Votto also doubled and walked twice.
