Jim Nantz shares appreciation for Bills and WNY (video)

Broadcaster Jim Nantz said western New York and the Buffalo Bills will always have a special place in his heart for how both helped him through one of his toughest times.

Prior to the Buffalo Bills’ meeting against the Pittsburgh Steelers last season, a blowout win for the Bills, Nantz’s mother had passed away. He was scheduled to be on the play-by-play call for the contest and it would have been understandable if he did not make the trip to Orchard Park.

Nantz did and he said the welcoming gestures he ended up receiving from players, the Bills front office, and the Bills Mafia blew him away. Nantz said no other teams treated him in such a manner.

Nantz attended the PGA Championship at Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester over the past week and discussed the way he felt with a few familiar faces: Josh Allen and Von Miller.
