Jaxon Smith-Njigba signs rookie contract with Seahawks

Now that all of your favorite former Ohio State football players from last season have either been drafted or signed undrafted free agent contracts, the watch is on to see when those selected in the 2023 NFL draft ink their new rookie deals with the teams they are now married to.

And on that note, former Buckeye star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njiba has signed his first NFL contract with the Seattle Seahawks according to sources close to NFL Network insider Tom Pelissero.

Details of the contract were not immediately known, but based on a sliding scale and estimates from Spotrac, the deal should be in the neighborhood of four years for $14.4 million with about half of that guaranteed as a signing bonus.

Smith-Njigba is the second OSU rookie to get things out of the way on paper, joining Paris Johnson Jr. who can both now focus their attention on making their marks on the field with their new teams.
