Jalen Ramsey says LeBron James would have ‘no chance’ in the NFL

It’s been long speculated that LeBron James would have a great career in the NFL, but Jalen Ramsey thinks otherwise.

The Rams cornerback even told the NBA star so – to his face.

“LeBron has no chance, I ain’t gonna lie to you,” Ramsey, seated two chairs away from James, said on the debut episode of Amazon Prime’s “TNF in The Shop” on Thursday.

James was a highly touted football recruit at St. Vincent-St. Mary High School in Ohio despite only playing high school football for two years. He totaled 103 receptions for 2,065 yards and 23 touchdowns – but that was in high school, and Ramsey is a three-time All-Pro cornerback. He explained what his plan would be to stop LeBron.

“I would have put them paws all over him,” Ramsey said, adding that the Lakers star’s vertical game wouldn’t have been a problem, either. “I ain’t never been Mossed in my career.”

There was a time where everyone could have found out – the Cowboys and Seahawks both reportedly offered James contracts to play tight end during the 2011 NBA lockout – but James stuck with basketball. It was probably a good bet, with four championships, 18 All-NBA selections and 18 All-Star games to his name over a 20-year career.

Ramsey, however, doesn’t believe LeBron would have had a good career, saying that he wouldn’t let James “Moss” him despite James being seven inches taller than Ramsey. James disagreed.

The exchange was caught on the debut episode of “TNF in the Shop,” a Manningcast-style alternate broadcast of “Thursday Night Football” with James, Maverick Carter and a variety of other guests.
