Ja Morant, Desmond Bane make NBA history with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving in ‘shootout’

Desmond Bane has never been in a game like Monday night. As it turns out, nobody in NBA history has done so. Between the Memphis Grizzlies and Brooklyn Nets, there were 20 players, but 150 points were scored almost evenly by four.

Desmond Bane and Ja Morant scored a total of 76 points, whereas Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant scored a total of 74. At FedExForum, the Grizzlies pair defeated the Nets by a score of 134-124.

When discussing the NBA’s top duos, Desmond Bane and Ja Morant are not mentioned as frequently as Durant and Irving.

Morant only made his first All-Star team last season, while Bane has yet to do so. However, the young Grizzlies’ backcourt is improving.

Morant scored 15 points in the opening quarter and 24 at halftime. Bane’s 19-point explosion in the third quarter resulted in a 17-point Grizzlies swing. Then, in the fourth, he added 13 points to put the game away.

Bane made 8 of 11 3-pointers, reversing a 3-point shooting slump of 8-for-28 during the first three games of the match.

Morant’s 3-point barrage has been one of the most significant early-season trends for the squad. Morant and Bane each provided seven assists.

Jenkins stated that Bane’s growth as a playmaker had enhanced the offense.
