ITI Limited bags Rs 25 crores worth of laptop orders from KITE

New Delhi: ITI Limited’s Palakkad Plant has bagged Kerala Infrastructure and Technology for Education (KITE)’s two Laptop orders for the supply of 6600 units and 1883 units worth Rs 22 crore and 3 crores respectively.

Under the Government of India’s ‘Make in India’ initiative, ITI Limited had launched SmaasH trademarked/branded Micro PC, Desktop PC, Laptop Computer, Video Conferencing Camera, among other ICT products and these are currently available for sale in market standard configurations.

ITI’s Palakkad Plant was started in the year 1976 as the First Switching Unit of our nation and most of the Telephone Exchange Equipment was supplied from ITI Limited’s Palakkad plant. Later on, the Plant diversified into the latest technology areas like IT infrastructure and software services.

As an innovative solution, 36 smart classrooms for Calicut University had been recently established by ITI Palakkad Plant. Data Center setup for Calicut University, Student Lifecycle Management program for Kerala University, Digital Studio set up at MG University Innovation Foundation, Online Examination facility for MG University, website design for Kannur University etc are few projects that have been successfully executed and implemented by ITI Limited’s Palakkad Plant.

ITI Limited has also ventured into the Transport sector with its IT expertise and launched the ‘Kerala Savaari’ project at Trivandrum City, an online-taxi service by the Government of Kerala, in association with Kerala State Motor Transport Workers Welfare Fund Board (KMTWWFB) . Kerala Savaari is going to be expanded to other districts of Kerala soon.

In addition to the above, ITI Limited has emerged as a digital solutions provider and is currently executing the Digitization of Government Moyan Model Girls Higher Secondary School, Palakkad. Once the project gets completed, it will be a new model for the entire education sector and will pave the way for a complete shift to the present-day concept of ‘smart classrooms’.

ITI I-Max, an innovative AI-based, finishing school setup for Engineering students to prepare them in appearing for job interviews is another innovative project from ITI Limited’ Palakkad Plant. Refurbishing of Lead Acid batteries and Lithium Ion batteries are some other areas which ITI Limited is planning to enter into. Scanning of Documents and Data digitization for various organizations are being carried out by ITI Limited’s Palakkad Plant.

Speaking on this occasion, Chairman and Managing Director of ITI Limited Rakesh Chandra Tiwari said, “We are happy to begin the new year by bagging this order and we are thankful to the Kerala Government. During FY 2021-22, ITI Palakkad has manufactured and supplied more than 1500 Nos of Smaash PC to various customers such as KSEDC for e-health Projects, MG university, DIET Karnataka, IIST etc. I am confident that ITI Palakkad Plant will maintain this tempo and continue this partnership with Kerala Government and other Government bodies.”

Recently, the Palakkad Plant was appreciated by ISRO for realizing the flight packages with respect to launch of LVM3 M2/OneWeb India-1 Mission in a time-bound manner meeting all Vikram Sarabhai Space Center (VSSC) quality norms. Palakkad Plant’s other business areas include Smart Energy Meters, Smart Banking Cards, High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) Duct Manufacturing, and Managed leased Line Network (MLLN) products.
