The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 is expected to be released in 2023. But should you wait for it? Know the latest leaks and rumors around the smartphone and check what new features might be coming.

In August, Samsung held its Unpacked event where it launched the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4. While the smartphone did not come with major design or tech upgrades, it flaunted a 6.7inch 120Hz foldable Dynamic AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 chipset and a rear dual camera setup with a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP wide-angle camera. But it has been quite a few months since the launch of the smartphone and now, all eyes are awaiting the next iteration of the Samsung flip smartphone. But is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 worth it? We take a look at the leaks and rumors doing the rounds to help you determine it. Read on.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 leaks

Based on a new tip from analyst Ross Young from DSCC, we reported earlier that Samsung is likely to enlarge the display size on the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Young said that Samsung could be offering a Cover Display that could measure between 3.3 – 3.4 inches. Compared to the 1.9-inch display on the Flip 4 now, this is a much larger display and will change the way things work. Some of the biggest advantages it can offer are a more functional UI, offering shortcuts to crucial apps and a better way to view notifications.

Another thing Young points out is towards the hinge design of the smartphone. He said that the Galaxy Z Flip 5 could also use a new hinge design that will reduce the crease on the folding display. The deep crease on Samsung foldables have been an issue for the longest time and the new hinge design might rectify it.

Finally, according to a South Korean news site The Elec, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 can also be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset which could provide a big performance jump while adding more energy efficiency to make the smartphone’s battery last longer. Do note, all the information provided here has not come from official sources and the final smartphone might look entirely different. Do wait for the official confirmation before making up your mind.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 was priced starting at Rs. 89,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant. Considering the fact that the upgrade from Flip 3 to Flip 4 was marginal, it is likely that the Flip 5 will keep a similar starting price. However, with unstable market conditions, it is not possible to say anything about the price so early on.

So, should you wait for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 or buy something that is currently available. We suggest that you stick with your current phone, if possible, and wait. Surprises are bound to happen.
