Intel made its laptop processor lineup a lot more diverse last year with the introduction of new P and U models alongside the usual SKUs. That is set to continue this release cycle as well, as Intel has unveiled several new low-power CPUs to compliment the performance-focused HX and H lineup. OEMs such as Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, Lenovo, MSI, Razer, Samsung, and others are expected to launch over 300 laptops using the aforementioned class of processors.
The P series processors consist of four SKUs, the Intel Core i7-1370P, Core i7-1360P, Core i5-1350P and Core i5-1340P. The Core i5-1350P and Core i7-1370P were spotted on Geekbench not too long ago and both failed to show any meaningful performance gains over their Alder Lake counterparts. It is also worth noting that both SKUs are earmarked for enterprise use, so the real performance gains could be found in the Core i7-1360P and Core i5-1350P.
Moving on to the specifications, the Intel Core i7-1370P features six performance (1.9/5.2 GHz base/boost clock) and eight efficiency cores (1.4/3.9 GHz base/boost clock). Its 96 EU iGPU has a maximum frequency of 1.5 GHz. Other specs include a TDP of 28 Watts, with the ability to turbo at up to 68 Watts and 24 MB of L3 cache. The Intel Core i7-1360P cuts down the number of performance cores to four and keeps the eight efficiency cores. It also operates at a slightly different base/boost clocks on both cores and cuts down the L3 cache to 18 MB. The Intel Core i5-1350P and Intel Core i5-1340P are both 12-core (4C plus 8c) processors with 12 MB of L3 cache, an 80 EU iGPU and the same power consumption as their higher-specced siblings.
Things get a lot murkier with the U series, which has a total of eight SKUs, all the way from Core i7 models to Intel Processor processors. There’s the Core i7-1365U, Core i7-1355U, Core i5-1345U, Core i5-1335U and Core i5-1334U, Core i3-1315U, Core i3-1305U and Intel Processor U300. All the Core i7 and Core i5 SKUs feature 2 performance and eight efficiency cores. Everything else about the Raptor Lake U lineup is different, including the clock speeds, iGPU specs, and L3 cache. The common theme among all SKUs is that they have a rated TDP of 15 Watts, with the ability to boost up to 55 Watts when needed. Refer to the attached image for detailed information about each model
