Intel may have announced the NUC 13 series of mini-PCs, but only Extreme Kits are available for now. Similarly, while third parties like ASRock have introduced NUC BOX mini-PCs based on Intel Raptor Lake processors, none are available to purchase yet. In the meantime, retailers like Amazon US have started discounting Intel NUC 12 SKUs like the NUC12WSHi5, also known as the NUC 12 Pro Kit or by its Wall Street Canyon codename.
At the heart of the NUC12WSHi5 is the Core i5-1240P, a 28 W and 12-core part from Intel’s Alder Lake-P series. For reference, the Core i5-1240P has 4 performance cores (P cores), 8 efficient cores (E cores), an Iris Xe Graphics G7 iGPU with 80 Execution Units (EUs) and 12 MB L3 cache. The NUC12WSHi5 itself comes with 32 GB of RAM, a 512 GB SSD, a Windows 11 Pro license and the following ports:
- 1x 2.5 Gigabit LAN
- 1x 3.5 mm jack
- 1x DC-in
- 2x HDMI
- 1x USB 2.0 Type-A
- 3x USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A
Typically, the configuration sells for US$839. However, Amazon US is currently offering the mini-PC for US$647, a 23% and US$192 reduction. As always, Amazon US does not reveal when this deal ends. The retailer has not indicated that there are any stock limits or similar restrictions, though. Please see Amazon US’ product listing for more details.
