Well… Pierre-Luc Dubois wants to play in Montreal and Matthew Tkachuk says he won’t sign long term with the Flames.
Like 1 + 1 = 2, our twisted brains imagined a mega deal that can solve several sticky situations across the NHL.
To all who say:
So go play Playstéchionne or Hicksboxe!
Well, you’ll be happy to know that we actually used a video game to illustrate the whole thing: NHL 22.
Let’s start with the first domino that falls:
The Flames and the Jets exchange their “problems”. One against one. Pow.
Then, Winnipeg (where dad Keith started his career) could keep Matthew Tkachuk but no. They sent him to St. Louis, the city where he grew up.
Vladimir Tarasenko has already asked the Blues to trade him. And since Tkachuk is much younger and coming off a hot season, the Blues need to give up an extra 1st round pick. It stops here for the Jets and the Blues.
But not for the Flames who granted Pierre-Luc Dubois’ wish and sent him to Montreal.
The Flames get a center capable of playing in the NHL right now, an excellent defensive prospect, a young goaltender and a first-round pick. This is the price that Montreal is ready to pay in our crazy project.
Summary
So in the end, the Jets ended up with Vladimir Tarasenko and a first-round pick. The Blues have Matthew Tkachuk. The Flames have Christian Dvorak, Kaiden Guhle, Cayden Primeau and a first-round pick. The Canadians have Pierre-Luc Dubois.
That’s it, everything is settled!
On the other hand, the chances of all this happening are 0.00000001%. But…
