Off their first loss in five games, the Carolina Hurricanes continue a coast-to-coast road trip tonight on four days’ rest as they head to face the New York Islanders. Carolina had won four straight games, including the first three games of its road trip that has seen the Hurricanes travel from Pittsburgh to Los Angeles and now back to the East Coast. The Hurricanes fell in a 4-3 overtime loss on Tuesday night against Anaheim. The Islanders had a four-game winning streak of their own late in November but have since alternated wins and losses, winning last night in New Jersey 6-4 behind a pair of goals from Brock Nelson.
