Black Friday and Prime Day are the obvious times to buy a new laptop, but you shouldn’t overlook the current Back to School season. Not only are there some excellent offers available, you often don’t need to be a student or in full-time education to benefit.
That’s the case with HP’s Back to School sale, which sees the company slash the prices of many of its top portable PCs in the US. The highlight here is HP’s excellent Pavilion 15 from 2021, which has dropped from its usual $979.99 starting price to just $649.99. That’s already a third off the RRP, but HP’s not done there. Entering the code ‘SCHOOLHP5’ at checkout gets you an extra 5% off, taking the total savings to $353.
At this price, the specs you’re getting are impressive. An 11th-gen Core i7 processor combined with 16GB of RAM and a large 512GB SSD. The 15.6in display is Full HD with the option for touchscreen – one part of an attractive design available in four distinct colours. You also get a full-size keyboard with separate number pad, solid port selection and audio from Bang & Olufsen.
However, the savings are even bigger if you’re happy with the Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM. This Pavilion 15 model is down to $489.99 with a huge $410 discount, although you’ll need to spend at least $599 to take advantage of the extra 5% off – just use the same ‘SCHOOLHP5’ code as before.
If you’re willing to spend over $1,000 on a premium machine, the additional savings jump to 10% via the code ‘SCHOOLHP10’. It means you can get the high-end Specter x360 2-in-1 for $1,389.99, down from its usual $1,799.99. A luxury device just became much more affordable.
But laptops aren’t the only discounted product by any means. HP also has savings on desktop PCs, gaming hardware, printers, monitors and plenty of accessories – those same two codes still apply. Just make sure you take advantage of these deals before they expire on August 20 by heading to the HP website.
