The Detroit Tigers’ short three-game road swing ends on Sunday, as they take to the field in the Lone Star State to wrap up their weekend series with the Texas Rangers.

After a rough end to their game on Friday night, the Tigers bounced back in a big way with one of their biggest offensive performances of the season. They opened the game with a couple of runs in the opening, before building a 4-1 lead by the end of the second. Thanks to a great performance from Eduardo Rodriguez on the bump, Detroit was able to continue to build their lead throughout the game. Three runs in the ninth capped an exciting evening, giving the Tigers an 11-2 win.
Eight players on Detroit’s lineup had two hits in the game, with Harold Castro picking up three hits. Jeimer Candelario and Eric Haase each hit home runs, with both driving in a trio of runs in the win. Javier Baez also had a pair of RBIs, while Rodriguez earned his third win of the season, striking out two, allowing just one run in six innings of work.
Nathaniel Lowe, Adolis Garcia and Mark Mathias each had two hits for Texas, with Lowe and Garcia each having RBIs in the losing effort.
Detroit is now just 1.5 games back of the Kansas City Royals for last place in the American League Central after the win, while the Rangers remain 10.5 games back of the last Wild Card spot, now being held by the Toronto Blue Jays.
