As we inch closer to Budget 2023, it becomes important to know where one can access budget details published by official sources. The Union Ministry of Finance launched the Union Budget Mobile App in 2021 in view of the year’s paperless budget presentation that was prompted by the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since then, it has become a go-to repository of the Union Budget where all important budget details can be accessed by any phone user. The app is managed by the Department of Economic Affairs, Union Ministry of Finance. It was designed and developed by the National Informatics Center.
The app is available on the Google Play Store for Android users and the App Store for iOS users. Currently, the Union Budget Mobile App has information related to Budget 2021-22 and Budget 2022-23. The information is categorized into various sections, making it easier to retrieve the required information.
Some of the sections are budget highlights, budget speech, annual financial statement, receipt budget, expenditure budget and customs notifications. The documents can be viewed in PDF format and can be downloaded as well.
The app can be accessed in English and Hindi. Once Budget 2023 is presented on February 1 by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, it is expected that the documents will be made available on the Union Budget Mobile App as well.
The Android version of the app was last updated on January 14, 2022 and so far, the app has been downloaded over 1 lakh times by Android users.
