The MyEras feature in NBA 2K23 is one of the best additions to a franchise mode concept that we’ve ever seen. Allowing users the ability to replay NBA history or even change it beginning with the 1983-84 season is pretty amazing.
If there is a catch, it’s that 2K couldn’t get the license to completely recreate the rosters from the 1983-84 season, and while they have an impressive number of players for the draft classes in the subsequent years, there are still some holes .
Users like MJWizards are doing their best to eliminate those issues as they have the responsibility of closing the gaps.
MJWizards has embarked on a project that has him replacing the placeholder players with creations of the real guys that 2K couldn’t get licensed. This is a massive undertaking, but MJWizards has already made up some impressive ground.
He has finished the 1983-84 rosters for every NBA team and has begun adding the draft classes for the following years. He posts the updates to this roster project on his YouTube channel after reaching certain checkpoints.
Here are a few examples of recent videos related to the project:
If you’re interested in downloading these rosters via 2K Share, you can find MjWizards’ work by searching his PSN ID: MJWizards.
If you’re looking for specific years, you can search the content name with this format: “1984 Completed by MJWizards.”
If and when this project is completed, be on the lookout for a more detailed look at each team and a preview of the draft class work.
