How Rule The Court & Rewards Work

NBA All-World gives players a chance to recruit star NBA athletes, putting them in the game for a chance to dominate their local courts.

Niantic’s new augmented reality basketball game NBA All-World has players recruiting star NBA athletes and competing to dominate the leaderboard in its Rule the Court feature. Rule the Court can be difficult, pitting players against some of their most powerful rivals in the area and requiring long-term attention and maintenance, but the rewards are plentiful and certainly worth the trouble.

In order to start climbing the ranks NBA All-World‘s Rule the Court game mode, players will first have to find a basketball court on the AR map – they’ll just have to walk around the neighborhood until they find one. Courts look like free-floating basketball hoops on NBA All-World’s AR map, and players will have to stand inside one to participate in Rule the Court games. Once on the court, players will be given two options: pickup games or King of the Court. Performance in pickup games won’t affect leaderboard standings, but players can improve their skills and rack up some Cred. King of the Court allows players to choose another player to challenge for their spot on the leaderboard.

Playing NBA All-World‘s King of the Court requires an entry fee paid in Cred, and higher-ranked players come with steeper fees. Unlike AW Cash, which is usually obtained via microtransactions, Cred is free to NBA All-World players, and is rewarded upon completion of most tasks. First or fifth, no matter the ranking of the player they dethrone, challengers will have to start at the bottom of the leaderboard and work their way up by defeating those above them. The challenger will then select a player from their squad and begin a one-on-one game against the NBA athlete the ranked player chose to defend their position. Games are played to three points or until five minutes have passed – there is no overtime.

Once they win, players will gain their spot on one of the NBA All-World‘s Rule the Court leaderboards, and can choose to leave an NBA All-World athlete on the AR basketball court in order to defend their title. The longer players stay on the leaderboard, the more rewards they’ll receive. However, NBA players who are occupied defending a court won’t be available for other matches – they’ll stay on the court until the player recalls them or they’re dethroned. Players will also have to keep their busy recruits at peak performance with Energy Drinks while they defend the court.

Players who win their place on the leaderboard in Rule the Court will be handsomely rewarded with Cred, AW Cash, and Star Tokens (items that players can use to rank up their team members). It takes a lot to win a top spot NBA All-Worldand even more to maintain it, but doing so is well worth the effort.
