Former Chicago Bulls player Horace Grant is not in need of money despite his NBA championship rings won alongside Michael Jordan being up for auction.
Fans were left wondering if the four-time champion needed a loan from MJ when Heritage Auctions announced Saturday that all of Grant’s rings would be up for auction until August 27.
Grant won three NBA titles with the Bulls (’91, ’92, ’92) and another one with the Los Angeles Lakers (’01) alongside Kobe Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal.
The Bulls rings will reportedly go for up to $100,000 each and the Lakers band could command nearly $40,000.
Each ring also includes a letter of provenance from Grant, according to Heritage Auctions officials.
Is Horace Grant broke?
Grant isn’t broke and is in fact no longer the owner of his NBA rings, which he sold for charity years earlier, according to TMZ Sports.
Spending nearly two decades in the NBA, Grant played on four different teams, including the Seattle SuperSonics.
He was taken by the Bulls with the No. 10 overall pick in the 1987 NBA Draft and spent seven seasons with the team.
In Game 6 of the 1993 NBA FinalsGrant blocked Kevin Johnson‘s shot down the stretch to secure Chicago’s third straight championship.
