HOJGA reminds youth golfers about upcoming tournaments

MARION — The Heart of Ohio Junior Golf Association reminds youth in Crawford, Delaware, Hardin, Marion, Morrow, Union and Wyandot counties to add the upcoming tournaments and events in June and July to their respective calendars.

The HOJGA Golf Camp will be held Thursday, June 8 at Determined Brilliance Driving Range, formerly Miracle Driving Range, in Marion from 8 am to noon. The camp is for beginners and youth wanting to brush up on the fundamentals of the golf swing. Instruction will be given by golf professional Steve Grimes, and rules and etiquette on the golf course will be discussed.

Along with instruction, campers will receive a logo bag tag, towel, booklet handout and lunch. The cost is $17 plus $5 membership. Clubs for Kids are available for juniors needing golf clubs. Deadline to register for the camp is June 2.

Tournaments and sponsors slated for the season are June 6 at Lincoln Hills in Upper Sandusky with sponsor Pamela Hartman of Milford Center; June 12 at Marion Country Club with sponsors M Development Group and Eagle Creek Housing of Marion; June 21 at Marysville Golf Club with sponsor American Legion Post 584 of Marion; June 26 at Blues Creek in Marysville sponsored by the Y-Men Service Club of Marion; July 6 at Veterans Memorial in Kenton with sponsor McCullough Industries of Kenton; July 13 at Kings Mill in Waldo with sponsors Dr. Paul & Kelly Culler of Waldo; and July 17 at Valley View in Galion with Crossroad Original Designs of Bucyrus.

The awards banquet will be held at Kings Mill on July 27.
