Hofstra Soccer Programs Earn United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Awards

Hempstead, NY – The United Soccer Coaches announced its College Team Academic Award winners, recognized for their exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2021-22 academic year, and Hofstra was one of 145 schools to have both the men’s and women’s programs honored.

A total of 783 soccer teams (295 men, 488 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2021-22 academic year.

The Hofstra men’s soccer team posted a grade point average of 3.68 for the academic year, while the women’s team compiled a 3.59 GPA for the year. On top of their academic success, both teams enjoyed stellar 2021 seasons on the field with each team winning the Colonial Athletic Association championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. The men reached the third round and finished with an 18-2-2 record and a No. 13 national ranking. The Pride women ended the year with a 17-4-1 record and advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
