Hockey:

Canada plays Switzerland today (Wednesday at 4 pm PT) in the quarterfinals at the World Hockey Championship in Edmonton.

The Canadian team finished 4-0 in the round robin while the Swiss went 1-3.

The late game tonight (7:30), which is the last of the quarterfinals, has the USA against the Czech Republic.

The semis will go on Friday followed by the medal games on Saturday.

Baltimore Orioles 4 Toronto Blue Jays 2

The (61-54) Jays suffered their sixth loss in the last seven games.

The same teams play again this afternoon (Wednesday at 12:07 PT) in Toronto.

The Jays have slipped to 3rd in the tight AL Wild Card standings, just 1/2 a game ahead of the (61-55) Orioles.

CFL:

The (7-1) BC Lions visit the (5-4) Saskatchewan Roughriders Friday night (7:00 PT) as
Week 11 of the CFL season begins.

The Lions have the second-best record in the league, only behind the (9-1) Winnipeg Blue Bombers, who are idle this week.

BC Football Conference:

The (0-3) Prince George Kodiaks host the (3-1) Valley Huskers Saturday night at 7:00 in BC Football Conference action at Masich Place Stadium.

The Huskers won the two previous meetings between the teams: 34-17 on Saturday, August 13th, and 31-5 on July 23rd with both of those games in Chilliwack.

(The Kodiaks also have a 35-20 loss to the Kamloops Broncos on August 6th in PG)
