HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall University men’s golf head coach Matt Grobe announced the team’s 2022-23 schedule on Wednesday. The slate features 12 events.
The Herd begins the campaign at the Earl Yestingsmeier Invitational (September 2-3) hosted by Ball State.
After the two-day event in Muncie, Indiana, it hosts the Joe Feaganes Marshall Invitational (September 12-13) at Guyan Golf & Country Club. The event began in 1968, was not played in 1970 and 1971, and has been on every year since 1972 except for 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Green & White won the event in 2021.
Marshall closes out the fall with a trio of tournaments starting at the River Run Collegiate (September 19-20) hosted by Davidson, followed by the Georgia State Invitational (October 3-4) hosted by Georgia State and the Dayton Flyer Invitational (October 17 -18) hosted by Dayton.
The Herd gets back on the course in the spring at the Thomas Sharkey Individual (February 5-6) hosted by Georgia Southern. MU concludes February at the Loyola Intercollegiate (February 26-28) hosted by Loyola Maryland.
Marshall travels to the Sea Palms Invitational (March 9-11) hosted by Western Carolina to begin March. It stays in the Carolinas for its next two tournaments at the ECU Intercollegiate (March 20-21) hosted by ECU and the Golfweek Any Given Tuesday Intercollegiate (March 27-29) at Pawleys Island, South Carolina.
The Herd’s final competition of the regular season is the Mountaineer Invitational (April 17-18) hosted by WVU.
The Sun Belt Conference Tournament will be held April 24-27 at Annandale Golf Club in Madison, Mississippi.
