When it comes to the very best private golf courses in Florida, for most of us it is a case of “you can look, but don’t touch.”
In other words, private means private. To be able to tee it up on one of these prestigious golf courses you will have to pay a hefty membership fee (in some cases $100,000 and higher) and annual dues. Or, strengthen your network of golf buddies by including a member who can invite you to play as a guest.
Golfweek released its 2023 Best Private Courses in the US this week and there are 20 Florida layouts ranked.
According to Golfweek’s website, the hundreds of members of its course-ratings panel continuously evaluate courses and rate them on 10 criteria on a points basis of 1 through 10. They also file a single, overall rating on each course. Those overall ratings are averaged to produce all our Golfweek’s Best course rankings.
