After the waltzing of the Beckerleys at Scottburgh Golf Club last Saturday it was the dance of the Turkey Trot on Wednesday.
Sponsored by three of the members who wish to remain anonymous they were Graham Power, Tony Richards and Brian Brown, a mixed up bunch.
Trotting to the table and their Christmas lunch were Julia and Leon van Zyl with 45 points, there should be plenty of leftovers there.
Second on 40 were Clyde Leisegang and Craig Owens with Alwyn Stander and Piet Vermaak third on 39 points, counting Doc Mahabeer and Barry Kisten for fourth.
Leon was also nearest the pin on the 2nd, Thava (no surname) 5th, Kevin Ramkisson 10th, Craig Owen 13th and Laighn Moolman 17th.
Coming Stone Last were Linda Hall and daughter Emma da Silva.
A very enjoyable day and thanks to our sponsors with the mixed up names and the many visitors who came and supported the day.
Wednesday is an Individual Stableford and Old Year’s Eve is the final monthly medal of 2022.
As the year ends it is with great sadness to report the passing of Margaret Coates, wife of Alec. I personally knew Margaret from our days at Goldfields West where she was a member of the successful ladies’ league team that won the league on quite a few occasions and regularly represented the old Western Transvaal ladies team.
As Daffy Duck says, “that’s all folks”. Have a prosperous and bright 2023.
