Golf fundraiser to support local agency’s in-school mentoring

Calling all golf enthusiasts to join Brothers Big Sisters of Orillia and District (BBBSOD) for their highly anticipated 27th Annual Golf for Kids’ Sake!

The tournament will take place at Settlers’ Ghost Golf Club on Friday, Aug. 26 and they are striving to raise $28,000 to support youth in the community. This really fun day is in support of the vital mentoring programs offered by BBBSOD.

Registration is limited to 120 available spots, so early sign-up as always is encouraged!

A team of four golfers can participate for $600. Registration includes 18 holes of golf plus a power cart, lunch, raffles, and more! 100% of the proceeds raised go towards in-school and community-based youth mentoring programs in our community.

“BBBSOD relies heavily on events like Golf for Kids’ Sake, as we are not funded by the government to provide our free direct services. We will remain dedicated to taking the challenges of the pandemic and turning them into an opportunity to better serve the littlest among us!” said Miranda Chaffey, Executive Director of BBBSOD.

Through mentorship, Big Brothers Big Sisters provides a caring and consistent adult who builds a safe and trusting relationship that can enable young people to thrive, despite the challenges they face.

BBBSOD are a no-cost community program for young people who can benefit from an additional consistent relationship with an adult. BBBSOD has been in the community since 1966 and offers community and school-based mentoring programs, such as In-School Mentoring, Go Girls! Healthy Bodies, Healthy Minds, Game On! Eat Smart, Play Smart, Live Smart™.

BBBSOD’s mission is to enable life-changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people. The agency is a registered charity recognized by CRA Canada.
