Former Ohio State offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere suspended six games

With sports betting becoming more and more popular we’re seeing athletes, and even coaches, across sports, get in trouble for participating in it.

In particular, the NFL has had multiple players get caught gambling on either NFL games or non-NFL games. In fact, the list of players to be suspended for gambling by the NFL is quite extensive.

Today the NFL announced suspensions for three players which includes former Ohio State offensive tackle Nicholas Petit-Frere.

Per Schefter’s tweet, Petit-Frere did not bet on NFL games, but rather non-NFL games at the Titans facility. Thus, he gets a six-game suspension as opposed to the full-year suspension many players have received for betting on NFL games.

This is a setback for the former Buckeye who started 16 games for the Titans last season at right tackle after getting taken in the third round of the 2022 NFL draft.

He was projected to be the starter at right tackle once again for this season. However, he will now have to miss the first third of the season and prove he deserves a starting role when he gets back from suspension.
