FOrmer NBA player Eric Bledsoe was arrested, accused of domestic violence. According to the website TMZ, police in the Lost Hills area of California responded to a call about a domestic incident on Wednesday, in which the victim was reportedly slapped by her boyfriend. After officers arrived at the scene and conducted investigations, Bledsoe was taken to the police station, where he was taken into custody and later released after posting bail.
Following the incident, Bledsoe’s girlfriend made a post on Instagram, in which the caption read, “It’s not worth it to stay in a relationship like this,” “Domestic violence is real! This wasn’t the first time but I stayed so it’s my fault!!! ” and “ERIC BLEDSOE really is a monster,” the woman added.
The playmaker’s arrest may have upended his plans, as the incident came hours after he signed a contract with the Shanghai Sharks, a Chinese team that competes in the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) championship.
Bledsoe was looking for an opportunity in the NBA.
Bledsoe was waived by the Portland Trail Blazers in July of this year and had been without a team ever since.
The shooting guard was selected 18th overall in the 2010 Draft and played for the Los Angeles Clippers. Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, New Orleans Pelicans and Portland Trail Blazers throughout his career, and was also part of the best defensive quintets of the season in 18-19 and 19-20.
