A Masters champion has committed to competing in the Sanford International this fall.
Mike Weir, winner of the 2003 green jacket, will play in the Sanford International on Sept. 11-17 at Minnehaha Country Club in Sioux Falls. He joins PGA Tour Champions golfers Kirk Triplett and Rob Labritz, who have also committed to playing in the tournament.
Weir has nine career wins, including the 2003 Masters and The Tour Championship in 2001. He also won the 2020 Insperity Invitational. This will be the 2009 Canadian Golf Hall of Fame inductee’s fourth appearance at the Sanford International.
Triplett has 12 career wins, including three wins on the PGA Tour and eight on the PGA Tour Champions.
Labritz is coming off an impressive finish in the United States Senior Open in which he finished tied for fourth. That result tied for his best result of the season and his best finish at a senior major tournament. Labritz will be making his second appearance at the Sanford International.
