Flyers claim forward Lukas Sedlak on waivers from Colorado

The Philadelphia Flyers announced the club has claimed the forward Lukas Sedlak on waivers from the Colorado Avalanche, according to President of Hockey Operations & General Manager, Chuck Fletcher. The Flyers also announced the club has loaned forward Olle Lycksell to Lehigh Valley of the American Hockey League (AHL).

Sedlak, 29 (2/25/93), skated in three games with the Colorado Avalanche this season after signing as a free agent with the team on June 13. The 6-foot, 205-pound native of Ceske Budejovice, Czech Republic, owns 27 points (15-12=27), 56 penalty minutes (PIM), one shorthanded goal and 151 shots in 165 games in four NHL seasons with Columbus (2016-19) and Colorado (2022-23). The left-shot center set a career-high 13 points (7-6=13) in 62 games during the 2016-17 season with the Blue Jackets.

Sedlak totaled 121 points (57-64=121) and 211 PIM in 164 games with the KHL in three seasons (2019-22). He registered 48 points (28-20=48) and 83 PIM in 159 contests in the AHL with Springfield (2013-15) and Lake Erie (2015-16) and helped the Monsters to a 2016 Calder Cup Championship. Sedlak has represented the Czech Republic at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, captained the team at the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship and captained the team at the 2011 Under-18 World Championship.

He was selected by Columbus in the sixth round (158th overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft and made his NHL debut on Oct. 21, 2016 vs. Chicago.
